Taranska Javorina

Tatranska Javorina is a small village situated in the north part of Tatras, near the Polish border. The village is surrounded by forests, at which a significant component used to be a maple tree. So, the name of the village stems from the word maple (Slovak: javor). Shepards also gave the name, containing the word „javor“ to several neighbouring geographical objects. The villages Podspady and Lysa Polana are also a part of the municipality. Tatranska Javorina is 11 km far from Zdiar and 2,5 km far from the Polish border in Lysa Polana.
